Joe and the Rockabilly Rebels began performing together in 2011 with a very clear mission; To capture the essence of each period of Elvis’s career and give people the experience of an authentic Elvis show. But they also want it to have even a deeper purpose. Joe weaves Elvis’s gospel music into the show exposing a side of Elvis that not very many people are familiar with. Everyone knows that Elvis was called the King of Rock and Roll but they don’t know that he never won a Grammy for his rock music. Yet he won three Grammy awards for his gospel music. Joe began to see the connection of Elvis’s life and struggles and how gospel music and his relationship with the Lord kept him strong through it all. Most people think Elvis had it made but he had struggles just like everyone else and we hope that people will leave our show realizing that there is hope in the middle of difficult times in their lives.
